People especially those younger ones are becoming more and more interested in western festivals such as Christmas and Valentine’s Day. They think they may look fashionable by celebrating those western festivals. There is nothing wrong for the individuals to do this, but when this is followed by most part of our country then we should reconsider this phenomenon.If our whole nation is celebrating western festivals, what should we do with our own traditional festival of our mother country? Our ancestors leave us a long glorious history and also various traditional cultures of which the traditional Chinese festival are a big part.We are Chinese and we should respect and cherish our own traditional culture. We should have a strong obligation to handle them down to our future generation. We will feel guilty to let them disappear in our hand.What’s more, most people who are celebrating so-called western festival are just imitating the form of them without capturing the sprite and aura of them. What they are doing is actually very fun and ridiculous.
